I would like to purchase launch covers that are missing from my collection for the following Polaris nuclear submarines:
  • SSBN 600 Theodore Roosevelt
  • SSBN 602 Abraham Lincoln
  • SSBN 608 Ethan Allen
  • SSBN 655 Henry L Stimson
  • SSBN 656 George Washington Carver
I would like to buy any, First launch, Gold or Blue, A2 or A3. But the earlier the better (pre-1965 for a premium); any cover must be cacheted with the subs name; all covers must have a corresponding date of launch by that submarine in Astronautix; postmark cancellations must be either Port/Cape Canaveral, or PAFB, or any Naval postmark that can be traced to duties in the ETR on the date in question.

If you have anything that meets the criteria and you want to sell - then name a price and if I don't have to mortgage my house again I'll seriously consider it. Thanks in advance.

Let me check on the sub covers as I do have lots of them and get back to you soon, I promise. Did you want them with official USN ship cachets or commercial printed or rubber stamps?

Thanks Ken. I'm open to anything really, just so long as it has a ship identified cachet as opposed to a generic rubber stamp missile launch type without a submarine number/name identification.

See below of just a few of my many sub launch covers in reference to above.

I've got others with non-USN cachets if you want to see them, however, most of those displayed are for later 1960's Polaris shots, but are mostly later Poseidon and Trident sub firings of the 1970's and early 80's, which I believe, are not what you're looking for.

Thanks for looking Ken, but I don't think you have what I'm after, as I have quite a few of those you've imaged. I specifically want to buy:
  • SSBN 600 Theodore Roosevelt
  • SSBN 602 Abraham Lincoln
  • SSBN 608 Ethan Allen
  • SSBN 655 Henry L Stimson
  • SSBN 656 George Washington Carver
And only early Polaris launches, verified for place and date. (I might have missed an important parameter - I only collect pre-1972 material. Thanks).

Sorry about that Axman even though I did have a Harry Stimson cachet cover, but it's much too late for what you are needing pre-1972 as this one depicted was ten years later. I'll keep checking as I got 3-4 full cover boxes of sub firings that I don't collect myself. Most all of the covers you see here were owned by club secretary Lloyd Bostwick of the KSCPS. But your request was fine as the Polaris A-2/3 missiles were from the 60's and early 70's in the first place. So my bad for not thinking earlier. If anyone would like the 20 covers display (+ more), I'll just take $10 postpaid for the whole bunch.
