Does anyone have a Javelin Argo D-4 3 May 1962 Wallops US-Japan cover for sale? There may be other versions, but the Swanson/Hudson purple cover is the only one I know that definitely exists.

Name your price and I'll see if I bite.

According to Wikipedia, Javelin D-4 Argo rocket was launched 82 times between 1959 and 1976. Is there some special interest for you in searching for this space cover dated May 3, 1962 or it is just because you have missed this in your collection?

Are your collecting all Javelin D-4 Argo launches in space covers? It could be that not all launches were recorded with a space cover.

Remember that sounding-rockets are not one of the most popular topics in Astrophilately. In fact, sounding-rockets are the poor brother of the rocketry family.

And balloons to stratosphere, the greatest forgotten.

I have not the cover you request. Please, if you find it, post here to share the image with others. Thanks.

There are four or five yeses in answer to your questions.

I am specifically after this one because it is the only one of the NASA-Japan joint launches in the sixties that I still haven't got - I have all the others, which were a mixture of Nike-Cajun, Javelin, an MT-35 launches. (I am especially interested in Japanese launches because I lived there for a while).

Basically I am collecting every rocket launch up until the end of 1972, although I am pursuing some more vigorously than others.

And if I do manage to find it I will certainly do as requested and post it here (although I expect it will be a modest Swanson Rubber Stamp Cachet with added text by Hudson in all likelihood).

All times are CT (US)
