Here is a vintage photo of the Mercury 7 astronauts with a large model of an Atlas launch vehicle and Mercury spacecraft. It has been signed by all seven below their images with their early, full signatures: Virgil I. Grissom, Alan B. Shepard Jr., M. Scott Carpenter, Walter W. Schirra Jr., Donald K. Slayton, John H. Glenn Jr., and Leroy G. Cooper Jr. It was inscribed at the top right (by Schirra) "To Virginia, with best wishes from the astronauts." This is a great inscription, since at the time they were all of "the astronauts." (I also like it because I live in Virginia, so it was like he was addressing my whole state!) A couple of the signatures are lighter than sometimes seen - but darker than other examples. The thick fiber paper has pinholes at the corners, and there are small wrinkles at the bottom (near Carpenter's signature), the bottom corners, and the top center. Signs of removed tape on the back. Because it is not in pristine condition, I am offering it for much less than what similar photos have sold for. (I will include links to past sales of that same signed photo, also inscribed.) I will also give the option of paying half now, and the rest in a month. Lifetime guarantee of authenticity. If the original buyer ever doubts its authenticity and any one of the hundreds of UACC Registered Dealers (or Zarelli Space Authentication) agrees in writing after analyzing the item in person, I will refund the full price, including S&H, as long as the item is in its original condition.
