At last year's Novaspace signing, Mr. Borman sold a few of his patches from the mission, in their original 9x9" size. The price for each patch was over $9,000 — far outside of my budget. But it's been a dream of mine to own a relic of Apollo 8, the first time in history that humans have left the Earth. It's one of the defining moments in human history; and if our species can survive another thousand years, it will still be remembered as the moment humanity crossed the threshold to become explorers of other worlds.

Eventually, I decided I could purchase one of Borman's patches, if I trimmed a few strips from the edges to sell separately. I'm hoping this will offset the cost a bit, while also giving fellow collectors a chance to own a piece of the mission without having to pay thousands of dollars.

In an effort to authenticate these as much as possible, I documented every bit of the process. I took photos of the original patch, including Borman's certification. I then took photos of each strip being cut, along with each individual piece being cut from those strips. Every item will come with a document that includes these photos, along with photos of the original COA. I will also provide high-resolution digital copies. Each photo will be numbered on the back, so you can match your specific item to the photos.

The Beta Cloth has been cut to trianglular shapes, and there are two sizes available. The larger triangles are about .5" wide, and the smaller ones are about .25" wide. For large fragments, the price for each item is $80 if you buy one, $70 if you buy two to five, or $60 if you buy more than five. For small fragments, the price for each item is $40 if you buy one, $35 if you buy two to five, or $30 if you buy more than five. US Shipping is $5 for any amount. International Shipping is $20.
