Sept. 17, 2016 will be the 40th Anniversary of the "unveiling" of OV-101 Enterprise. As many are aware, it was originally to be named "Constitution" but the fans of Star Trek petitioned the White House to change the name.
September 17 is also known as "Constitution Day." So it was appropriate to unveil Enterprise on that day during our Bicentennial Year.
It is also my birthday.
I couldn't allow the anniversary to pass without celebrating it. So here you'll see my Enterprise Commemorative. I recently attended Buzz Aldrin's ShareSpace Foundation Apollo 11 anniversary gala at Kennedy Space Center and presented the first prototype of this patch to George Takei. I told him he was there when it was revealed to the world, he should have the first patch.
This design was created by Tim Gagnon of Titusville, FL and Jorge Cartes of Madrid, Spain.
