What are the fragments and where did they come from the spacecraft? Thank you. |

The Certificate of Authenticity, signed by J.G. Czuninski, president of Aviators Alley & Threehook Aviation, reads: I certify that these twelve fragments of Apollo Command Module material encapsulated within the accompanying Aviators Alley 'Apollo Command Module Kapton Collection' acrylic display are authentic relics of the outer protective skin of each of the Apollo Command Module spacecraft from Apollo 4, 7 and to Apollo 17. These flown relics have been sourced from larger relics that I have personally subdivided for encapsulation within each of these acrylic displays and were produced by Aviators Alley as part of the limited edition. |

Where did the larger relics come from? In a presentation like this, each relic needs authentication linking back to its origin. Otherwise, it's no good to me. I would assume that I'm not alone on that stance. |

A general concern associated with production and ownership of these type of presentations - provenance is obfuscated as a result of disassembly of the source artifact. Subsequent owners incur the burden of establishing authenticity. |

I cannot see what the artifact is from Apollo 7, but if it is a piece of parachute material it is bogus as the chutes were not recovered on that flight. |

I believe Jerry is a member of cS, maybe he can weigh in. I have one of these presentations and it came with a binder full of documentation for each artifact. The Apollo 7 is foil.

Everything I have purchased from Jerry has come with solid provenance. If he offers me something, I know it is what he says it is. |

That is correct. The display is also accompanied by twelve 8.5 x 11" individual fact sheets and certificates of authenticity for each fragment in a loose-leaf binder. As of the certification for Apollo 7 it is command module kapton foil originating from Jerald Wilken, test conductor at North American Rockwell Corporation. |

Jerry is a stand up gentleman. I helped him obtain the Apollo 8 kapton from Lewis Chilton another retired Rockwell engineer. Jerry always provides Letters of authenticity with each item he sold from the providers of the materials. |
