I am located here near Kennedy Space Center and run across former cape employees with items to sell. All different sorts, high-priced and low-priced. I am looking for someone I could sell the stuff to. I just want to make a little bit of money and be able to put these items in the hands of people who will truly appreciate it and are fans of the space program. If you could please send me your email address so I will have it on file and I will send you pictures of items I could offer you for sale. Thank you. |

Nada in terms of a response. Maybe he was overwhelmed with the deluge of emails from us cSers. |

I understand that this is his sale, and he can do what he wants, but I'm not sure I'm in love with the decision to do these as private auctions.I really don't know what many items are worth, so I'm afraid I'll be overpaying. |

I am there with ya, Constellation One. I'd much rather be given an asking price and accept/negotiate/decline with a starting place.Plus, I detest "bidding against myself". As such, I will likely abstain - unless a "gotta have" item appears (which, based on the first rounds, I am skeptical of). I'm sure he has his reasons. It is a free country. If I were in his shoes, I'd just 99-cents it all on eBay and let the market be the market. However, I appreciate the sentiment of putting "these items in the hands of people who will truly appreciate it and are fans of the space program." Of course, such focused-marketing also save on marketing costs, lifts realized prices, and boosts profits. The capitalist spirit IS alive in America, and I salute it! |
