I have a dozen copies of both "Freedom 7" and "Liberty Bell 7" by Colin Burgess that will be hand signed by Colin late this month. I am offering these books exclusively to collectSPACE readers who may be interested in acquiring a hand signed copy. They can be personalized, inscribed, or simply flat signed depending upon your preference. There will be NO extra charge for this courtesy. Colin is rarely available for signings given he lives in Australia, making this a great opportunity to add these hand signed titles to your collection. They are priced at $37 + shipping (only $2 over retail to help offset my own costs). Shipping anywhere within the U.S for a single copy is $7 via priority mail. Additional copies will be more and international orders will be priced depending upon location. I will require payment in order to secure your copy and will send a PayPal invoice or accept credit card information should that be your chosen method of payment. I will also happily accept checks and money orders. Depending upon the demand and the timing, I may be able to accommodate orders for copies beyond the 12 for each title I currently have on hand. I am pleased to announce that Farthest Reaches has secured 25 copies of "Friendship 7", Colin's latest title which has just been released. It will be available for signing along with copies still available of "Freedom 7" and "Liberty Bell 7" until we're sold out. I'll emphasize that quantities are very limited so am offering them first and foremost to collectSPACE readers and to the general collecting community should any remain. All THREE titles are priced at $37 each which is only $2 over list to cover my own costs. I've fine tuned the shipping charges for Colin's signed books. They will be packed in my usual manner well padded both inside and out. The rates are as follows:Within the U.S. via media mail: - 1 book - $6
- 2 books - $7
- 3 books - $8
To MOST International destinations via 1st class mail: - 1 book - $24
- 2 books - $32
- 3 books - $41
Orders of different quantities will need to be calculated on an individual basis. Also, adding other items beyond these books will impact shipping as it's all based on size and weight.The above said, I'm still taking orders and will be sending PayPal invoices, processing credit cards and accepting checks and money orders until the limited supply of these books are gone. Spent a wonderful evening with great friends Colin Burgess and his wife along with Francis French. We enjoyed dinner together followed by Colin patiently hand signing all of the books that were placed before him. Colin was very pleased with "Friendship 7" as this evening was his first opportunity to actually hold a finished copy of one in his hand. The first "Friendship 7" signed was dedicated to collector Scott Furtaw who's inscription read accordingly. I'm busy packing and shipping as we speak and the first should be in the mail tomorrow. Many thanks to you all for your orders. A very few hand signed copies of "Friendship 7" remain and are being offered on a first come, first served basis. Here's Colin with the very first copy of his book that he had ever seen! One of the people he signed for is going to get this copy. He greatly enjoyed seeing a number of familiar names as he personalized them. A fun evening of signing and good conversation. |

As related by Steve, our small party enjoyed a sumptuous Italian meal before Pat and I flew back to Australia, where we touched down this morning. Altogether, I signed well over 50 books, several with requested personal inscriptions, and Steve said that he now wishes he'd purchased more copies of "Friendship 7" from Springers as he had already received orders for all but around 5 books, so the rest will go very fast.One thing I did find out is that Steve still still has several copies left of my "Selecting the Mercury Seven" book with the special bookplate insert, signed by seven of the unsuccessful finalists in the Mercury selection program. This is a beautiful presentation and I would urge everyone to check out this insert at Steve's Farthest Reaches website to find out about ordering a copy of the book complete with the free insert. One of those who signed, Dale Cox, has since passed away, giving the insert even more collectability status. I do not expect to be back in the States until mid next year, so do contact Steve if you would like to purchase any of the three signed Mercury flight books already published, with the "Aurora 7" book probably around 2-3 months away from its own release. |
