As a board member of the Indiana Space Complex, I am selling commemorative patches as we are seeking to raise funds for our efforts. The ISC is still in the planning phase and is not a realization yet. We have been working for about three years now in an effort to capitalize on the space heritage of Lawrence County Indiana, home to astronauts Gus Grissom, Charlie Walker, and Ken Bowersox. These particular patches were designed by CS's very own Tim Gagnon and are limited in number. The cost per patch is $15 (includes shipping costs). If you are interested in a patch, e-mail me with your name and address. Cash and Checks are accepted. As soon as we get payment your patch will go out the same or next day. |

Is the Indiana Space Complex still an active organization? I attempted to go to their website but it's no longer active and their Facebook page hasn't been updated since last December. |

Yes, we are still an active organization, but we have had to remove our website in recent months to conserve money. As for Facebook, our personnel has changed and we are filling to redistribute tasks. We are currently preparing to toss part of our idea to a large entity in hopes of getting part of our vision off the ground quickly. |

Wow - either y'all are really hurting on the fiscal side of the house, or y'all are getting hosed on your website costs. Virtually no organization today can operate without an active web presence - and a proper, low-cost, website can - thru avenues like AdSense - easily generate the revenue to offset basic costs ($5-10 a month via GoDaddy). Seriously, you need to rectify that ASAP. Like, right now. Don't craft a reply to this message - restart the website this moment. Really... I can wait... What are you doing here still? Go! |

This was a fun patch for Jorge and I to design. The stars pay tribute to every astronaut from Indiana. The star behind the Moon is for Frank Borman. The Earth and sunrise are borrowed from the Expedition 34 patch that Jorge and I worked on with Kevin Ford. The Mercury spacecraft is for Gus Grissom. The torch is from the Indiana State Flag. |

That is why I'm trying to sell these patches... if we sell enough we can redo the website up and have someone properly oversee it. That just wasn't happening. |
