Hey there, just letting you all know I am auctioning off a Neil Armstrong full name signature on eBay to the highest bidder with no reserve. Very rare to see this style of signature from Neil. He signed more often this way later on in his life making it a very rare item. Check my other auctions for a Buzz Aldrin signed photo. ThankseBay item #300854688599. |

OK guys, I've been waiting to see who might post a comment on this. Certainly looks like no NEIL Armstrong I've ever seem, but the seller is stating it is from his later style of writing. I thought it might be his wife at the time signing for him, but couldn't find any examples of her signature online. I'm certainly not a Neil Armstrong expert, so how does it look to others here? |

This is the signature style that Neil used when signing legal documents. A couple other examples of this style can be found in the Neil Armstrong Signature Exemplars section here at collectSPACE. Also, a more hurried version of this style was used by Armstrong in 2010 on the customs form that was stolen. While this signature style is less common (on the marketplace) than the one he usually provided to collectors, it's hard to say just how "rare" it is. My biggest concern with the item up for auction is that it's a cut signature. It would likely be more valuable if the document had been left intact. |

From what I have seen its pretty legit looking and looks similar to the one that the Customs agent tried selling a couple of years ago. |

I see there are questions in regards to this autograph style. I looked at some other references from my Neil Armstrong file that show this style being used on his personal checks, and its definitely not Janet, as in one, her signature is next to his. She does the Armstrong very different then Neil. Unquestionably authentic and rare!

Boy, this one ended up WAY lower than you would have expected (under $800). I wonder why? |

The final bid is well within what I would expect a cut signature to sell for, regardless of the style of autograph. The market for cut signatures is much more narrow as compared to photos and even books (though, regarding the latter, much depends on what book it is that was signed). |
