On eBay, I'm selling my Gibson & Barnes flight jacket (Medium Regular). I recently bought a new one in Nomex, so I don't need this one anymore. It's still fairly new as I've only used it for a month or two.Pretty much the jacket is the same model used by US (and some foreign) astronauts. However this one, rather than Nomex, is made out of shrink-resistant polycotton and the color shade is slightly different compared to Nomex. It also has an inside wallet pocket on the left side. Also bundled with the jacket are a set of patches (AB Emblems 3" NASA Meatball/3x5" flag/STS-135 and a replica Mach 25), and for no extra charge, I'll sew patches on for the winning bidder (including any other patches the winning bidder supplies). Retail value: - $180 Jacket + Nametag plate + Wallet Pocket + Shipping (Gibson & Barnes, production time is typically about a month)

That's a great deal for what it's at right now, just a shame it's smaller than a lot of space fans wear... Otherwise I'd have bid on it for sure. |

That's one of the few downsides to having a small chest size. I already had one person message me on eBay stating that he was too big, but that he wanted some of the patches.For anyone who's not the correct size but still wants one, I'd suggest either keeping an eye on Gibson & Barnes' clearance sales (currently they have no jackets though) or ordering one (worth noting, they take about a month to produce these and have $19 shipping to most of the US. You may also want to hire someone locally to sew any patches as they charge $5 each). If anyone wants an authentic Nomex flight suit, Gibson & Barnes currently has two in size 48 Extra Tall on clearance for $99 each, or in polycotton for $59, there's a few size 38's and a size 42. | |
