This is my own design for STS-62A. For the story behind the patch, see here. "STS-62A Revisited" is 4 inch (10.16 cm) in diameter and is a fully embroidered patch. Availability is limited to 86 patches (referencing the year of launch) for sale. I will be personally number and sign each patch. Each patch will come with a personalized and signed certificate of authenticity, and will be notarized in Davidson County in Tennessee. The patch is a first come basis; once they are gone, they are gone. If you're interested in purchasing this patch, please reply to this post or email me. All profits generated from the sale of this patch will be donated to the Space Camp General Scholarship Fund. I would like to personally acknowledge and thank Tim Gagnon and Jorge Cartes for their diligent assistance in making my "STS-62A Revisited" design a reality. Additional recognition is extended to the assigned astronauts of STS-62A, the Bank of Nashville, and the other personnel that made this project possible. |

I appreciate all who have purchased the patch and their kind words. However, I have received numerous emails that ask about the approval or involvement of the assigned astronauts of STS-62A. The following are my answers:Since I will neither confirm nor deny any of the assigned astronauts approval or involvement, I would rather not divulge that information because of the following: - I do not want to offer any of the names of any of the astronaut(s) that I made contact with as to generate sales of this project
- Astronauts are sought out for approval and involvement for numerous projects; by stating their name(s), I do not want the astronaut(s) to feel obligated to my project, especially since they have had to decline others
- I respect the astronaut(s) wishes and their right to privacy
- The purpose of this patch is for historical collectors of the Space Shuttle Program and the profits donated to the Space Camp General Scholarship Fund
I hope that everyone in this forum understand these reasons. |
