I just bought two Space Shuttle Discovery $5 Marshall Island coins from 1988 still in their plastic protector and with their folders - I am going to keep one for my collection. Anyone interested in the other one?

I had collected several of these Marshall Islands "coins" but I had heard along the way that they are not acceptable as "money" in the Marshall Islands.
Has anyone else heard this rumor?

Not the Marshall Island "Discovery" coin in particular, but for many of the commemorative coins issued by small nations - the guitar-shaped coins of Somalia, for example.
But: the US dollar is the official currency, says the CIA World Handbook. That means a "Marshall Island dollar" would be spurious. It's like a British Euro.
