Releasing from the collection for sale - this early (1965) Oxygen Tank Valve from the Saturn V Second Stage (S-II) produced by Leonard (company subsequently acquired by Calmec Valves). Scott, as you know I have a similar valve to this one.The valve is a work of art. I've got mine in my living room and it is like a sculpture. People comment on it all the time. I'm thinking of building a 3 foot stand for mine and lighting it from the ceiling - it is that amazing. I see this item as transcending simply collecting. It is something to be displayed in an office or home - not put away somewhere. Dave Scott (not the astronaut) www.apolloartifacts.com |

Very cool! I'd love to own a real piece of Saturn V hardware someday... This would be a prime example! How much does something like this cost? |

It wouldn't have occurred to me if two others haven't described it as a work of art, but it look really does look just like a Grecian urn. If they'd ever pick the correct lottery numbers, I'd buy it and put it on a marble pedestal that looked like an ancient Greek column with two spiral rolls on the sides. That would be really ionic. |

Hehe... I thought the same thing, FullThrottle. I expect it's one of those cases where if you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it. It's a beautiful piece of history!

Scrap to some; art to others. I too would like to get an idea of the price or value. |
