Actively seeking lucite paperweights for purchase and display in our online collection. Any paper weights containing historically valuable material are wanted — especially those relating to aviation or aerospace programs!

Any era, any program, any make or model, and any manufacturer!

Usually, these paperweights come in two forms: One form is, embedded in lucite, acrylic, or perspex, a curly piece of metal, a chip or shaving from the milling process usually for the first start of production of a aircraft. Most times, it will say "First Chips from the First F-22" or the like.

The other type is made of the alloy used to make the aircraft, like "this is a piece of the alloy used in making the B-52" or B-47. Generally about an inch thick, and about the size of a pack of cigarettes,

Please have digital photos or scans of items ready when inquiring.

The central thesis of my posting is production paperweights — more commonly know as "first chips" or the like. I am looking to enhance our collection of over 60 such displays.

Examples of what is being sought can be found at here. Thanks again!

Great collection and I love your online museum!

I have two of the items on your "Wanted list" (Hubble flown solar cell and shavings from the Viking Lander).

I'm not interested in parting with them, but I would be happy to share a photo for your museum to display until you find your own copy.

The Hubble cells seem to come up at auction at least once a year. Pricy but very nice items for anyone's collections.

Please email me if you would like the photos.

I only place items in the online museum that I have physical possession of. Thanks for the offer of photos, though.

I am way behind on adding items, but I got disheartened with the process when I learned that several outfits were "cut and pasting" my research and item histories into eBay and other listings without proper attribution or linking...

Taking a moment to bump this somewhat dated ask... Or, as us pilots say, pressing 'Ident' on the plane's transponder. Thanks y'all!
