When there has been published photos from the shuttle cockpit, you can sometimes see timers that the crew can use for their specific events.

The timers look like "kitchen-timers" with all numbers 0-9, to be able to insert a time and do a count-down.

Are these commercial timers? Does anyone know were to buy one?

I would appreciate help on this subject, to add more "space" in my house.

Best regards,
Jan Persson, Sweden

They are now made by Pyrex. Pyrex Professional.(And you won't find them at Walgreens They are actually hard to find.
Bed, Bath & Beyond carried them. They are about $20. There is also a version that is made for sporting goods stores.

I have one here that is my countdown timer as well as my desk and alarm clock. When using them a lot they tend to use up watch batteries.

Many thanks for all the professional reactions I find on this site.

Here is a photo of the cockpit, and a timer located on the back of the commander seat.

As I live in Sweden any good suggestiions for some internet site where they can be purchased would be appreciated.

As I write this I am following the second spacewalk on STS-121. It is wonderful with internet making the world a lot smaller.

Greetings,

It would appear that the timer, or a model very similar to the one pictured, is available via Amazon.
