Twenty years ago, America's original Mercury astronauts reunited to encourage the next generation of space explorers. Their efforts led to establishing the Mercury 7 Foundation, which later was renamed the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) to include their fellow Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle peers. To date, the Foundation has awarded nearly $2 million to exceptional college students pursuing degrees in science and engineering. To celebrate their 20th anniversary and to continue to raise scholarships, the ASF has introduced a special, limited edition print signed by four of its founders: John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Walter "Wally" Schirra and the late Gordon "Gordo" Cooper. (This project was the last ASF activity that Cooper participated in prior to his unfortunate passing earlier this year. His family approved of the prints' sale as planned, as it continues the efforts that Cooper worked to achieve.) The 8 by 10-inch photographic print features a visual timeline of an orbital Mercury mission, with images chosen from each of the four astronauts' flights. Schirra is pictured boarding his spacecraft; Glenn's first American orbital mission is represented by his Atlas launch; Carpenter is seen inside the Mercury capsule and Cooper is represented by an image of his splashdown recovery. Each astronaut has signed by his corner of the montage. Available for $195 each, the 20th Anniversary Astronaut Scholarship Foundation signed and numbered print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity certified by ASF Executive Director Linn LeBlanc. Limited to only 300, supplies are limited so order today! |

Thanks Robert for the info- will contact Linn direct. DEREK- Your quote- REGISTER MY INTEREST AT AUTOGRAFICA- if I had known about this- as I had been talking to Dianne Wallace and her hubby throughout that weekend- and knew nothing about this print at the time. So you are ordering one- okay-thats great- only $10 postage to the UK- whether the island is the same? Ted has said yes- so here goes. We have just watched the Thunderbirds DVD- tonight- children plus adult Tracy Family- well worth it. Got it from a friend-who works in a computer shop- Regards from Brenda. this was posted by november25 11.20pm |

Brenda,The preview of this item was the first thing on the ASF table on the left hand side as soon as one came into the room. Not too many spotted it I think. They also had signed copies of the movie "Apollo 13" (signed by Jim Lovell, Tom Hanks and Ron Howard), Apollo 17 launch and Apollo 17 LEM crew (on their way back from the moon) signed by Harrison Schmitt and Gene Cernan... Lots to see there! I actually told you about the Mercury print when we were talking beside the Lost in Space cast tables on the Saturday. To me it seemed like you weren't interested at the time. Perhaps you just didn't quite grasp what I was saying? Regards, Derek |

Derek- You quote- [The Preview Was On the ASF TABLE] plus- You seemed to Me- You were not interested} Sorry- about this- perhaps I was a little tired-under the weather with a cold- and did not quite grasp what you said to me- As it had been a long journey to Coventry- Hubby was ill-and with all the excitment of such huge guests, and especially meeting friends, and your goodself- plus I was near the drinks table at the coctail party-sat,night, Hubby and myself [HAD A HEAVY NIGHT] quote- so much was happening. I am still very interested in the picture- thank you. Have sorted something out with Dianne Wallace by e-mail. Regards to you.from Brenda. this was posted by november25 |
