As living in Belgium this is a giant problem for me. I received some mails of astronauts asking for a self addressed stamped return envelope. I think the US postal ofiices wil not accept my Belgian stamps, so I am looking for a good soul who can buy some stamps for me (how much I have to put on an envelope ?) I will pay with paypal.Dirk |

Hey Dirk,I had this problem myself when I started out. Generally I order the stamps online from the United States Postal Service website: http://www.usps.com/ Equally, you can ring the USPS and order stamps that way. They've always been very helpful and well organised in my experience *touch wood*!!! Good luck! John

Should the USPS website not solve your problem, and you need further help email me. I would be glad to assist.

Dirk, USPS has an agent in Europe that sells the stamps for face value: Offizieller Philatelistischer Dienst der Postverwaltung der USA in Europa Venusberg 32-34 73545 Lorch Duitsland Tel. +49-7172-8966; sieger@sieger.de They deliver for face value as per the exchange rate of the day (plus VAT and postage); there is a handling fee of €2,50 and a small orders fee of €5 for orders under €50 - so better order your needs for the year to come in one shot. To my experience, they deliver much faster than USPS, usually within the week. Ms Mannes (born Clark) who runs the show speaks good English, so don't worry about language problems met de moffentaal ... ;-) ------------------ Jürgen P Esders Berlin, Germany http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astroaddies |

Also - if you go to the www.usps.com site - go to Calculate Postage - then International Calculator and it tells you how much for postage back to you. It goes by weight and type of service. |
