i have the stamp that honors the "First Man On The Moon." The cover was postmarked from Washington, D.C. on the date it was issued, September 9, 1969. The cover also includes a special "Moon Landing" postmark from July 20, 1969 Iam trying to find the worth of this. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you my e-mail dauonline@hotmail.com |

Sorry to have to tell you this, but the postal service processed millions of first day cancellations for the first man on the moon stamp. In fact the number of first day cancellations for this issue set the record for the time. So, these covers are plentiful and therefore not expensive. You did not mention if/what type of cachet (art design on the left side of the envelope) your cover has. For covers with no cachet, 50 cents to a dollar is typical. For mass produced cachets (like Artcraft, Artmaster, or Unicover) $1 to $5 is typical. For some of the limited edition cachets, or contractor cachets the prices can run up to $10 or $20 but these are few and far between. |
