The British Interplanetary Society has a 50th anniversary event at its London HQ (and online) on Thursday 17th July at 1900hrs BST. It's not too late to register (see the BIS website).

On a personal note, it was a 14-day tour to Florida, run by Transolar Travel in conjunction with the BIS, which gave me the opportunity to see the ASTP launch live, as it happened, from just north of the VAB. Looking at my watch, I see that exactly 50 years ago I was in a Greyhound coach inching towards KSC and getting increasingly concerned that I would be seeing the launch from the coach, or at best from the roadside. But everything worked out perfectly in the end!

All times are CT (US)
