Historic Apollo 50th Gala Theme Announced

The Aldrin Family Foundation is pleased to announce that details of the historic Apollo 50th Gala can now be viewed on the event's recently launched website.

"Space for a Better World" is the theme for the historic event that will be held under the Saturn V rocket on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

The Apollo 50th Gala event will pay tribute to humanity's (seemingly) impossible achievement of reaching the moon, from our first steps to tomorrow's giant leaps in space. The space race drove America to shoot for the moon, but the spirit that came out of the Apollo missions was "We Came in Peace for all Mankind." Space unites us in a way that nothing else can and provides endless inspiration for people all over the world.

The Apollo 50th Gala theme will not only celebrate the historic accomplishments of the past but also examine how Planet Earth benefits from the world's common interest in making giant leaps in technology and engineering.

Raising funds for STEAM education, the Aldrin Family Foundation will release a limited number of tickets for public purchase in early 2019. For now, tickets are reserved for Foundation donors and supporters of previous gala events.

In attendance will be: Apollo, shuttle and International Space Station astronauts, flight directors and space legends, Apollo families, NASA executives, global movers and shakers, space collectors and educators.

Commemorative Apollo 50th Wine

Carneros Della Notte wine, official fine wine to the historic Apollo 50th Gala has designed a beautiful commemorative bottle exclusively for the Apollo 50th Anniversary.

This 2015 Cabernet Reserve from the Napa Valley comes in a sandblasted and hand-painted limited edition bottle, with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Aldrin Family Foundation to promote STEAM educational programs and activities.

Orders are made directly from the Carneros Della Notte website. The price is $125 per bottle. Shipping in the US is $25 for the first bottle and $5 thereafter assuming the same address. International shipping will be quoted on an individual basis.

For guests attending the Apollo 50th Gala and wishing to receive an order in Florida, orders must be submitted no later than the 1st July 2019. (It will not be possible to buy bottles in Florida.) Stowing one of these bottles in checked luggage is the perfect way for international guests to take home a piece of the Gala experience.*

This 2015 Reserve Cabernet is a fine wine. Sourced from some of the oldest, most established vineyards in Napa, California, this is a deep garnet-colored Bordeaux-style wine that is intriguingly both complex in bouquet and flavor, yet smooth and balanced on the palate. Its rich aromas are laced with wild blackberry, black currants, smoky oak, leather, and a delightful hint of vanilla. The lush tannins and undertones of spice and cocoa culminate in a truly satisfying finish that makes you and your most special guests look forward to another sip.
