Apollo Program 50th Anniversary Commemoration
Angelo State University is hosting a series of events to commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Apollo Program including the moon landing in 1969.
9 a.m. – Francis French, space historian and author
10 a.m. – Panel Discussion:
French and Hansen
Joel Banow, CBS News Director for Apollo broadcasts
James O'Brien, CBS News Associate Producer
Bill Harwood, CBS News Space Analyst
11 a.m. – Dr. James Hansen, Author of Neil Armstrong biography "First Man"
1:15 p.m. – Book Signing (books by French and Hansen available for purchase)
6 p.m. – Joel Banow and James O'Brien will host a presentation and show CBS News clips of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing in the ASU Planetarium (located in the Vincent Building).
11 a.m. – Francis French, space historian and author
2 p.m. – James O'Brien, CBS News Associate Producer
6 p.m. – ASU will host a viewing of the movie, "First Man," at the Icon Cinema. Dr. James Hanson, author of "First Man," will participate in a public Q&A session following the movie. Please contact the Communication and Mass Media Department for ticket information.
