From NASA: quote: Endeavour Homecoming Celebration at EllingtonAlong with Center Director Mike Coats, family, friends, colleagues and public guests are encouraged to wish the Endeavour crew well as they return from a successful mission in space. Come out Wednesday, Aug. 22, to Ellington Field's Hangar 990 for a "welcome home" event beginning no earlier than 3:45 p.m. to honor the STS-118 crew: Commander Scott Kelly, Pilot Charlie Hobaugh and Mission Specialists Tracy Caldwell, Rick Mastracchio, Barbara R. Morgan, Alvin Drew and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Dave Williams. Gates to Ellington Field will open at 3 p.m.

Endeavour's crew returns home to Houston Teacher-turned-astronaut Barbara Morgan and her six Endeavour "classmates" returned to Houston Wednesday afternoon, the day after completing their orbital "field trip" with a landing at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Awaiting their arrival at Ellington Field was a crowd of several hundred, including their families, friends, VIPs, NASA co-workers, and the public. | |
