Very sad news today in Northwest Indiana. Lisa Rae Austgen, the young but very dedicated leader of the NWI Challenger Learning Center, passed away after a valiant fight with leukemia. "Heart and Soul" of Challenger Learning Center dies My daughter was at the learning center about two months ago with her class -- it was her second time there -- and was as thrilled as ever by the experience. As astronaut Jerry Ross said, this very dedicated woman poured everthing into that learning center and was its heart and soul. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, her friends, her colleagues, and all those who got to know her through the center. In the article above, there is information about donations to a memorial foundation in her honor. I plan to make a donation. Perhaps others of our community, especially those from the Midwest, might do the same.
