On Monday, January 15, 2007 a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. took place at the Strathmore Concert Hall in North Bethesda, Maryland. Among the participants, Dr. Bernard Harris delivered the keynote speech which included a slide show of the STS-63 flight. I was able to attend the event and had the privilege of meeting Dr. Harris afterwards and he also signed a copy of 'They Had a Dream' for me. AMTV, which is Ch 21 on Comcast Cable in Montgomery County, Maryland is going to rebroadcast the tribute to Dr. King at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 20, at 8:55 (I'm not sure if AM or PM) on Sunday, January 21, at 2:25 PM on Thursday, January 25, and one final time on Sunday, February 4 at 8:55 PM. The tribute last for just over 2 hours and Dr. Harris' keynote address lasts for about 20 minutes.[Edited by Mike Isbell (January 20, 2007).] [Edited by Mike Isbell (January 20, 2007).] | |
