At least as of right now, I am scheduled to take part in a live report about collecting space memorabilia on ABC 13 Eyewitness News (Houston) during the 4:00 p.m. CDT broadcast. A camera crew is coming by my home to pre-tape my collection this morning and then they are planning to broadcast live from our store Rocket Town during the afternoon newscast. I do not know yet if the report will make it on to their website. |

Congratulations, Robert!4pm... darn I will probably miss it. That would have been a birthday treat for me. Hopefully they will show it again at 5pm or (best of all) post it on their website for all to see. |

I just received a call and the interview has been postponed until tomorrow. They want the segment to air after Discovery's landing. |

The 4:40pm segment has just finished airing. It was fun! For those who may have missed it, a different edit of story will air during the 6:00pm news. The live segment, hosted by Elma Barrera, featured my collection but mostly focuses on Rocket Town, interviewing some of our younger visitors and touring our selection of merchandise. In addition to myself, RT store manager Jack Kleinhans and John Gray make cameo appearances. In addition to whatever ABC 13 does on their website, we hope to have a clip available on the Rocket Town website soon. |

Robert,Caught the show just as I walked into the house this afternoon. Great job! Should bring some well deserved business to RocketTown. I envy your collection, but unlike you I was lucky enough to be born soon enough to witness the race to the moon, and to live just south of the Cape where I was able to see most of the early launches. But, my collection can't come close to matching yours. Mel |

ABC 13 has posted a Windows format video clip from today's interview. I can't find a way to link to it directly, so from their front page, you need to scroll almost half way down to "Featured ABC13 video". The clip is called "See an amazing collection of space memorabilia". I am not sure how long this link will be active or available.(I also haven't been able to get this to play smoothly on my computer, but it may be just a local bandwidth issue.) |

Cooooooool clip Robert. It's great to see our hobby exposed to the public. I wish I could have seen more of your collection but the Rocket Town store looks great. Never met you in person but now I can place a face with a name. Thanks for sharing, Dave |

Good, Robert! Even though you'd think that even a human-interest journalist in Houston would quickly research this "water-into-snow" business (waste-water dumps, I presume...). She needn't be laughed at by all of those people in the program in the Houston area...BTW Robert, you did a phone interview with our own TV here in Quebec, how did this turn out? Did it happen, did it air? ------------------ François Guay Collector of litterature, notebooks, equipment and memories! [This message has been edited by music_space (edited August 10, 2005).] |

The water-into-snow that Elma refers to is actually a product we offer, Super Snow at Rocket Town. The interview with Canada's "Revenge of the Nerdz" was by webcam, though I have no idea if it ever aired. |
