Is there anything special planned anywhere for the 36th anniversary of the First Moon Landing? |

I've heard of nothing, but then the special events usually occur at the 10, 15, 20, etc. year anniversary after the accomplishment. 2009 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing. However, on the anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11, (July 16) the surviving crew of the ASTP, (Stafford, Brand, Leonov & Kubasov) will be at KSC for their 30th anniversary which is actually one day after their launch and one day before their docking anniversaries![This message has been edited by Rob Joyner (edited July 14, 2005).] |

We are doing this on Saturday 23rd - an interactive, simulated voyage to the Moon: http://www.rhfleet.org/site/challenger/public.html We timed it for the Apollo anniversary. Francis. |

that is very cool Francis ...I think the apollo 11 moon landing should be celebrated EVERY YEAR accross America, so that people can stay interested in Space Programs. Even Armstrong needs to go out every year and make a speech or throw a party. That is what I would do if i was the first man on the moon. As a matter of fact, if i was in Neil's place, i would still be traveling all over the world, giving talks, signing autographs, and making people happy (while making money at the same time, ofcourse) |

Failing any major anniv celebrations, I highly recommend grabbing theDVD from Spacecraftfilms, and watching the relevant sections on the date they happened. I did that last year and it was really nice!Dwight |

I'm just wearing my "First Walk on the Moon" t-shirt today. I'm sure my coworkers just stare at me and think "yeah, whatever...."Tom
