I had the opportunity to see astronaut Michael Fincke give a presentation at the Houston Museum of Natural Science this past Tuesday evening. The event was sponsered by the North American Micropaleontology Section of SEPM who were holding a research conference at Rice University. Col. Fincke showed a film of his ISS mission that he completed last October, presented a series of still pictures ( which he said were available for public viewing at http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov (I hope I have the web address right!)) and did a Q & A session afterwards. For about an hour before and a half-hour afterwards (until the museum had to close at 10 PM), Col. Fincke also met informally with small groups of those present and answered questions and signed autographs. It was a very nice evening (as was the 70 degree F weather in Houston - I came down from Maryland where it snowed on Tuesday).[This message has been edited by Mike Isbell (edited March 10, 2005).] [This message has been edited by collectSPACE Admin (edited March 11, 2005).] | |
