I just wanted to give you a heads up about a documentary airing on "The Passionate Eye" tonight and the 21st, on CBC Newsworld in Canada. http://www.cbc.ca/passionateeyesunday/darksideofthemoon/about.html I have never heard of this story. Anybody out there that has? John |

Note this is not a documentary. This is a pseudo-documentary: in other words, a hoax about a hoax, a show designed to demonstrate "how the truth can be twisted by the manipulation of images" and "make [the viewer] aware that one should always view television with a critical eye." http://www.cbc.ca/passionateeyesunday/darksideofthemoon/about.html |

Ooops - just read your post Robert.Speaking of The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd has a new DVD out. My guess is that the P. Floyd DVD would be much more entertaining than the CBS documentary(?). Rizz [This message has been edited by Rizz (edited November 16, 2003).] |

Robert, when I first read your reply I wasn't sure you had actually heard of this or if you were commenting based on the website info. After watching it last night with my 13-year old son (I'm blessed, he shares this hobby with me) I can report back that I did not enjoy the presentation. It was indeed a mixture of fact (though I was never really able to figure out what WAS FACT, if any of it at all) and fiction ("Michael Collins was never heard from again" and "Neil Armstrong joined a monastary"). My son found a lot of it funny and learned a lesson about scrutinizing what you see in the media but as far as entertainment for a space junkie it was a real flop. I did stick around long enough to get the answers to the DVD contest however. | |
