I just got back from a Slanted Fedora Star Trek convention in Dearborn Michigan. It was very small, only about 50-65 people in attendance. The only personalities there were Dick Gordon, 2 actors from Star Trek Voyager and an actress from Star Trek 3. The admission was $15 and autographs were $10 each, a very reasonable price. The actors and Dick each spoke for about an hour and signed autographs later. The 2 actors put on a show to end the evening too. I have little to no interest in Star Trek; I think I was the only one there interested in Dick Gordon. During Q&A most people were asking about Columbia, I kept asking questions about his Gemini EVA, Apollo 12 and Apollo 18. The show is making two stops in Ft. Wayne IN on Saturday and Dayton Ohio on Sunday. If any of you are in the area I recommend stopping by. I was able to chat with Dick for quite a while and get a cheap autograph. He also told me that he was planning on writing a book and that he thought Al Bean was not going to be able to attend the UACC show in DC. Bob |

I agree with this. The most fun I've ever had at a Star Trek convention was at one of these small Slanted Fedora cons. Dick Gordon was there also, and he's a blast. Also, Robert Picardo and Ethan Phillips are the actors at most of these small cons - and they're a wonderful team - absolutely hilarious. If one comes near you, take the opportunity to go. | |
