I just got an email stating that some rumor got started about people only being allowed ONE ITEM for all the astronauts to sign.

The way Ken explained it to me was that every astro scheduled will sign one item per person.

Now if that is wrong, I hope Ken will jump in. It doesn't even make good sense that you get one item signed by everyone....

This may be more than a rumor. I'm awaiting word back from the AHoF.

Its already been published that the KSCVC will be distributing commemorative posters to attendees on Friday night. They may be counting on having that one item signed by all the astronauts instead of worrying about collectors carrying boxes of memorabilia on premises.

That said, I hope its not the case...

I would like a poster of the event. Can someone pick one up for me? Not looking to have it singed.

Glad I didn't make reservations just yet! ;-) Fares are still as low as $260 so it is still an option for me to go. But this "rumor" has me thinking I should just forget it. I am eager to hear what AHOF officials have to say. As I understand it, you think this means we will NOT be allowed to get any personal items signed? If that is the case I don't think I will travel the 1000 miles for the event, as exciting as it would be otherwise.

My main objective would be to get Wally Schirra, Gordo Cooper, and Fred Haise to sign my press kit cover, which is already signed by many Apollo astronauts, and three of the Original 7. If this is not an option, then I guess I would not make the trip. :-(

Thanks for keeping us updated Rob and Cindy....

I just dispelled this rumor and clarified others with new information from the KSCVC:
