Even though I know most of the abbreviations commonly used on the board, I still run across some that have me stumped. Perhaps a sticky post somehere, or a link to a page showing abbreviations used on the board along with the space program in general and what they stand for would be nice. For exampleWSS SMEAT MGA TRW [Edited by Lunatiki (January 09, 2007).] |

See the NASA Scientific and Technical Information (STI) site at: http://www.sti.nasa.gov/acronym/main.html "WSS" - (Not in the STI database.) Tribal knowledge makes me think this is "White Space Suit." "SMEAT" - Skylab Medical Experiments Altitude Test "MGA" - Medium Gain Antenna. "M-G-A" - Mercury, Gemini, Apollo. "TRW" - Thompson Ramo Wooldrige (A company. Aerospace, automotive, IT, offshore subsea systems, etc.)
