I have an Apollo 14 crew signed cover that was mailed to Flight Crew Support member Juanita Adkins. It unfortunately was not kept in a humidity controlled environment, and has foxing.

I recently sent items to auction, but left this cover out because of the foxing. Would a collector be interested even with the marks? Should I have the foxing removed from a respected conservation company? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you can afford it I, personally, would definitely have it treated to remove the foxing.

Caveats apply though. I'd only do that if I owned the piece and was wanting to keep it. Also I'd have only bought it in the first place if the price was substantially lower than its market value unfoxed.

Therefore to answer your second question: Yes collectors would still be interested in it - for a lower price. Some would treasure it as a bargain as is, others like me would treasure it after having it treated.

And no thanks, I'm not offering to buy it, but only because I already have an Apollo Insurance Cover (in pristine condition) of my own.
