Here is one of the covers I produced for the Blue Origin New Shepard rocket launch on July 20, 2021 from Launch Site One, near Van Horn, Texas. The cover is postmarked at the post office in Van Horn TX 79855.

Space cover collectors who submitted envelopes to the post office may have received postmarks in either red or blue ink, depending on which postal clerk serviced the envelopes. I contacted the post office prior to the flight and requested blue ink from the clerk I spoke to.

Blue Origin's Launch Site One is in a remote location approximately 25 miles (40 km) north of Van Horn. State Highway 54 is adjacent to the launch site.

Very nice! This is the same type cancel device that has been in use for many U.S. post offices, including KSC and CC. After too much hand cancel usages, though, this type of mechanical device doesn't always work well with continuous cancel impressions. Nice combination with using blue cancel ink in representation of the Blue Origin company.

Terry Chamberlin and I each got the red cancels. The earliest ones received back erroneously show a date of APRIL 20, 2021. Those sent a couple of days later got the corrected July 20, 2021 hand cancels.

Mine were mainly about Wally Funk and his about the Blue Origin rocket.

With the large cancel strikes shown above in red, the excess "bleeding" areas of ink smears was one of the problems experienced here at one of the Florida Space Coast postal locations. Once the "smears" had been cleaned up, they would still continue to cause trouble only after a few additional cancel strikes.

Oh, and for Terry and Ray, the cachet covers in honor of Wally Funk are well done.

There may be commercial vendors within this website that can sell you similar Blue Origin covers for July 20, 2021. Maybe one of the members knows a good source.

At least 3 or 4 versions of this cover are currently listed on eBay.

There will be another cachet version or two available once the covers are back with their postal markings for this event that my firm will have as well.
