Vladimir Dzhanibekov designed a cover for Soyuz T-6 showing a blonde young Russian and a French girl. Are they Ivan and La Liberte?

From a collectSPACE reader in France:
The drawing is from famous French artist Jean Effel (1908-1982, he died few months after the Soyuz T-6 return).

In the 1993 book, "URSS-France Exploration De L'Espace," we have some anothers drawing of Jean Eiffel like this cover drawing. The cover's drawing is totally in his style.

Robert, Thank you for information. I was not aware of Jean Effel.

The back of the cover says in Russian language: "Ministry of communications of USSR, 1982. Price 1 K. Authors: V.A.Dzanibekov, J.I.Chretien, A.S.Ivanchenkov. Moscow Goznak Printing House".

Dzhanibekov is a great artist. In my office is an aquarel of him showing Juri Gagarin and his Vostok rocket. Back in 1982 I was told, he painted the cover.

I still wonder who are the two allegories. Ivan and Freedom?

All times are CT (US)
