I found this crew cover in a small Apollo 13 lot. Is this unusual, since no Beck covers where intended for the USS Benjamin Stoddert?

That is indeed an extremely rare cover. It may even be unique. Morris Beck Crew covers are rare. It is believed that he produced only 25 non-numbered (i.e. Crew) covers for each numbered cover. When you consider that the numbered covers varied from about 300 for his early Recovery Ship covers to approximately 1000 for ASTP, you can see how rare a Crew cover is. And, you are quite correct in saying that no Beck covers were intended for the USS Benjamin Stoddert. Your cover was meant for either the USS Iwo Jima or the USS Kawishiwi. How it finished up on the USS Benjamin Stoddert is anyone's guess. Either way it is a most desirable cover.
