Linn's 2006 U.S. Stamp Popularity Poll

Again this year Linn's Stamp News is holding its "U.S. Stamp Popularity Poll."

The poll of 2006 U.S. issues includes 20 commemoratives, 14 definitive issues and 7 postal stationery items. You are asked to select the Best, Worst, Most Important and Least Necessary U.S. issues of 2006. There are four brief ballots to complete, including a ballot for the overall favorite issue.

The ballots are available at the following link:
http://www.linns.com/poll/default.asp?uID=

You may have to register for the Linn's site. Registration is free. The home page of the Linn's site is available here:
http://www.linns.com/

During 2006 there were many great U.S. stamp issues, including the X-Plane set of two. The 20 U.S. commemoratives are shown on the ballot page in full color. By clicling on each thumbnail image you can see an enlarged image of each stamp. Included are issues for Judy Garland, Sugar Ray Robinson, Super Heroes, Baseball Sluggers, X-Planes, etc.

Included in the 7 postal stationery items are the two X-plane envelopes.

I have participated in these polls since the 1960s. Over the years U.S. stamps have become much better in design and the choice of a best issue is difficult.

You may vote in this poll until 12 March 2007. The up-to-date leaders in the poll can be seen from day to day.

Are there similar stamp polls in other countries?

Thanks for the post about the poll, Bill. I just voted (no registration was necessary).

Currently, the results aren't great for space topical philatelists: the X Plane designs only rank in one category, Worst Design: Postal Stationery.

Sooo, the only positive thing we can do is to vote for something other than the X-Plane issue for worst design postal stationary?

Well, you could also vote for the X Plane definitives and stationery for the best in their categories, as well as best overall, too.

I know its open to personal taste, but I for one actually liked the X Plane stamps.

All times are CT (US)
