NASA has issued a lapel pin to Artemis I team members (photos via eBay): In recognition of significant contributions, exemplary performance, and dedication to NASA in the success of the Artemis I mission, NASA's historic 1.4-million-mile flight around the Moon and back (November 16, 2022 - December 11, 2022).This commemorative pin contains Orion, SLS, and EGS metal shavings that were flown 268,563 miles away from Earth and back on NASA's historic Artemis I mission.

Interesting, how many of these pins were produced? They were not part of the official flight kit, right? |

The metal shavings from the mobile launcher, the SLS rocket and Orion crew module were flown in the OFK (each listed as one bag full). The pin on which the shavings are embedded did not fly.There is also a medallion that used some of the same shavings. |
