Blue Origin has debuted its own astronaut wings to be presented to those who fly aboard its New Shepard suborbital flights.Former NASA astronaut Jeff Ashby, Blue Origin's chief of mission assurance, presented crew members Jeff Bezos, Mark Bezos, Wally Funk and Oliver Daemen with the first set of Blue Origin astronaut wings: These astronauts will wear a set of wings in the shape of the letter "A." The side pieces represent the road to space and our feather logo is the cross bar. At the top, a tiny blue sapphire [is there] to remind these folks that they are from planet Earth and they have a mission to protect this home. |

If you remove the barbs from the feather, the shaft definitely resembles the Amazon Smile logo. |

Beats me why they can't just make them look like actual pilot style wings... Looks a lot like the Star Trek uniform insignia, if you ask me. |

I wonder how long it will be before someone who flies on Blue Origin (or Virgin Galactic) turns around and sells their company-issued wings. |

I'm guessing that neither Virgin Galactic or Blue Origin don't use pilot wings because their passengers don't control the spacecraft. I'd say both designs are appropriate. |
