Pintrill release Duane King - Voyager Golden Record Pin - Raised/recessed antique brass
- Black rubber pin clutch
- Limited edition of 200
- 1.65" diameter x 2mm
In 1977, two spacecrafts, Voyager 1 and 2, were strategically launched to study the outer Solar System. Aboard these two robotic probes, NASA placed The Voyager Golden Records, 12-inch gold-plated copper disks containing sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth and intended to communicate a story of our world to extraterrestrials. We teamed up with Duane King to honor the Voyager Golden Record by creating a replica pin ($15) of the gold alumininum cover designed to protect the Voyager 1 and 2 records from space particle damage. This first edition series is limited to 200 pins and individually numbered. The Voyagers now explore the outer boundary of the heliosphere in interstellar space; their mission has been extended three times and they continue to transmit useful scientific data. | |
