SpaceX's CRS-11 mission patch (the insignia is the same shape and general layout as the CRS-4 patch given this flight marks the reuse of the Dragon spacecraft): |

Other than VIP launch guests, NASA Social participants and press, who receive patches after a successful launch, SpaceX has taken to delaying the public sale of its patches until after mission success. For Dragon flights, that means after splashdown. The patches are generally available (via the Air Force Space & Missile Museum gift shop and on eBay) within a few days to a week or so after the Dragon returns. CRS-11 splashed down on July 3. Here is an example of the patch from Curiosity.com, a CRS-11 Social participant, via Twitter: |

Thanks for posting that, Rob. Nice to see it. I asked, because the Iridium 2 and BulgariaSat-1 patches (for flights that launched after CRS-11) are already available. Must just be a production snag. |

Quite possibly. That said, those missions ended on the same day they launched and so were presumably approved for release before CRS-11. The Dragon splashed down the same day as Iridium launching, but it may be that SpaceX waits until the Dragon arrives back on shore before declaring the flight a success. |

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. It certainly makes sense. Thanks, Rob! |
