Iridium is replacing its existing constellation by sending 70 Iridium NEXT satellites into space on SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets over 7 different launches.

The company has designed its own launch patch:

The patch, decal and pin, as well as logo-emblazoned apparel is now available directly from Iridium.

Would other collectors in the UK like to band together to buy patches in one lot to save on postage?

Surprise! Just when I thought that I had a complete set of Iridium NEXT, Aireon and related SpaceX Falcon 9 patches, here's the new ninth launch patches. There's a good description of the Iridium NEXT patch symbolism here.

It looks like this ninth launch is for a set of ground-spare satellites. Does anyone know if there are any more Iridium NEXT launches (and patches) planned? The old Iridium web shop has closed, so that source is no longer available (I found these two on eBay by accident). Has anyone seen the SpaceX Falcon 9 patch for this mission?

The SpaceX Falcon 9 patch for the Iridium OneWeb mission can be found under the SpaceX Falcon 1 and Falcon 9 flight patches thread.

Thanks Robert! And I have received another email that the Iridium store is still operational here, including the new patches and pins. Thanks for that Michael!

Great news their online merchandise store is back up and running. However, I see the shipping charges are outrageous as before. FedEx is the only option making the shipping more expensive than the patch, pin, and decal.

They had this issue in the past and I contacted the manager. She was able to begin offering USPS First Class at much lower rates. I will be contacting them tomorrow. I would recommend others do the same and hopefully they will offer reasonable shipping cost.

I sent an email concerning lower shipping cost options to the manager and will update here once I receive a reply.

Eileen with Iridium contacted me today and stated she had checked with the warehouse about offering USPS shipping and was informed unfortunately at this time FedEx is the only option. So, if you want just a couple patches etc the shipping will be more than the merchandise. As, for me I guess I will have to order a few extra things to justify $14+ shipping costs.

Good news is the same people who over saw the online store before are the same with the new online web address. Both Michelle and Eileen were exceptional in the past and had great communication with costumers. The same still goes today.

All times are CT (US)
