Has anyone caught any good stills of the "Apollo 18" movie patch, or have any artwork? I tried writing to the film company to see if they had any plans or promo items, but not heard. |

I know someone who works with companies who make stuff like that for secondary market, and he looked into it, and found they have no plans on making anything with the insignia. Crying shame, I thought the patch design looked good and would have bought one, myself. I have seen on eBay someone makes the Apollo 18 patch for the Michener "Space" series from the 1980s. Look here under "Space TV series". Something about Apollo 18 that always makes for a dead crew in fiction. The play "Darkside" about Apollo 18 had a nice patch design as well, would have liked to get a patch from that as well. |

Thanks, yes the Griffin-Stone patch is nice, and from snatches of Apollo 18 (movie) that I've seen the design looks like it could be similar (going to see it tonight, so will report back!). For the Michener's Space patch at the link, it doesn't look an original (which was produced by Stewart Aviation, UK, for the TV show) so is this produced with copyright permission? |

No idea, I sort of doubt it. I'd bet if you approached these people they might already be working on a embroidered version of the new 18 patch from this movie... |

Was bidding on a production-made embroidered patch from the company that made the movie (complete with call sheet and a parking pass for the studio in Vancouver), but someone apparently from Europe had much deeper pockets, dang it. It went for over 60 bucks, more than I was willing to spend. But it IS now a known fact that they did make embroidered patches for the crew. I’d love to have one of these, it looks really nice. |

It reminds me an old very well known Apollo 18 patch from a previous production... (Yes, Darkside). Only tilt your head a little to the right. (Oh yes again! the LM is a new added...) |

You're absolutely right. Sure looks like they borrowed the main design from my Darkside patch. Guess I should be honored. |

You should ask where your royalty check is! I wish I'd gotten one of those patches but they came and went long before I knew they existed. It would be cool to have three patches for a mission that never took place (all of which ended badly). Goodness knows your design was a lot better than the downright awful one for the TV series, “Space.” Man, what a bad design! |

It's too bad the LM on that embroidered patch is so poorly detailed. |

Michelle, your Apollo 18 was simply, clear and nice... a good thing to inspire others. And time gave me the reason. |
