I have just received a Russian pin for Xmas. It is about 1/2 " square with 2 white rockets zooming toward a red planet on a black backround. Saturn is depicted to the left of the rockets' contrails. There is an inscription "MAPC-2 MAPC-3" in the lower right hand corner. Anyone have an idea what this item is ?

Hello again, i just looked up the Mars 2 and 3 in a book of mine.Mars 2 vanished without trace but a global dust storm was raging upon its arrival time.Mars 3 was responsible for the first martian broadcast but after starting to transmit a picture it stopped after 20 seconds. David
