From GreenLight Collectibles on Facebook:
As we approach the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 12 manned lunar landing, we're excited to be developing a couple of GreenLight Collectibles Corvette models in 1:24 and 1:64 scale to pay tribute to this great achievement in human history!

Astronauts Charles Conrad, Jr., Richard F. Gordon, Jr. and Alan L. Bean each leased nearly identical 1969 Chevrolet "AstroVette" Corvettes in gold-on-black color schemes from General Motors for a period of one year for the nominal cost of $1 each! Those Corvettes grew to be synonymous with the Apollo 12 mission.

Presenting Item #30073 1:64 NASA Apollo XII Astronaut's 1969 Chevrolet Corvette "AstroVette" (Hobby Exclusive), hitting the market in September 2019.

Greenlight Collectibles' 1:64 scale AstroVette is now available from hobby shops. The 1:24 scale model is expected in late November to early December.

Such a shame they don't make it in 1/43 scale as that's a popular scale for die cast and plenty of O scale model train people would use one on their layouts...

True Scale Miniatures (TSM) made a 1:43 AstroVette in 2015. Though it has since sold out, it was only four years ago, so perhaps that is why Greenlight chose other scales.

(Also Greenlight has a 1:43 line, so maybe another release will come in the future.)

Just got mine in the mail today. For the size, it's a really nice little model. The photos don't do it justice.

Since I bought the Franklin Mint version that came out quite a number of years ago, I may pass on GreenLight's 1/24 scale. We'll see.

My Astrovette arrived this week. Fun one, it's a real winner if you ask me.

It's a real longshot, but I'd love to see other astronaut-owned vehicles get the same treatment. I recall seeing Neil Armstrong's Corvette on "The Grand Tour." If a die cast version of that particular car came out, I'd be all over it.

After a long delay, the 1/24 version is now shipping. My pre-order was dated July 24, 2019!

Received my 1/24 Greenlight Astrovette today. Fortunately comes as shown with the side mirror and "correct" wheel covers, one or both of which were missing in early promo pics.

As noted up-thread, the Hot Wheels size 1/64 model is quite nice as well... great finish for the small scale, and no *fat* tires like one usually sees on 1/64 cars.

I should note that, contrary to some retail descriptions I've seen, neither model has opening features.

My 1/64 version does not have a license plate on the front, only on the back. Is that correct or is it a fault with my scale model?

My 1/64 does not have a front license plate either, so that's probably how they were manufactured.

Thank you. In the meantime I have had another confirmation of this.

It's not clear in my pic, but yes, the 1/24 model has a front license plate, the 1/64 does not.

While the choice of artwork does not quite match up (other than being NASA related), Greenlight Collectibles' Norman Rockwell Series 3 includes Apollo 15 astronaut Al Worden's 1971 Chevrolet Corvette as a 1:64 scale miniature.

These are said to be arriving in U.S. stores soon.

I'd like to see Gus Grissom's '67 Vette.

Was there anything custom about Grissom's Corvette? Or was it just an off-the-line '67 model? If the latter, there are probably scale models.
