collectSPACE Land your own Dragon with new models of SpaceX spacecraftAs the first commercial spacecraft to fly to the International Space Station (ISS) prepares to return to Earth, the company behind the history-making capsule has made it possible for its fans to land their own Dragon. Space Exploration Technologies, or SpaceX, has licensed Canada-based Proach Models to produce scale models of their Dragon spacecraft and Falcon rockets. The first of its kind deal was launched within hours of SpaceX seeing its Dragon spacecraft successfully berthed to the complex on May 25. |

The Dragon seems to be missing on Proach's website, although the three rockets are there. While it's good news they've opened this line of 1:72 Falcons, not everyone has the kind of space to display such models. One would hope a 1:144 line by Proach may eventually follow. And while I'm wishing, may as well suggest that SpaceX license Dragon Models (no relation!) for a 1:400 scale to go with that line of rockets.

It appears that the Dragon was removed from their website sometime late this afternoon.(Nick told me that the photo was of an early prototype and that he and SpaceX were still refining the details that will appear in the final production model, so that may explain the temporary disappearance.) |

I want a kit, Revell needs to call them, or Realspace! These look like they will be rather costly. Realspace says they have asked to do a resin kit, but no response yet. |

In view of the prices, I'll pass... Not for the general public.Question: are rocket model designs copyright protected? |
