Will they correct that major goof up with their Discovery + 747 model? |

I am sure they are just using the same 4D Vision Space Shuttle, just adding clear sections to both sides. The clear section on mine is the hatch side, so I assume they used the same type of mold to duplicate the opposite side. |

The 4D vision was 1/72 scale, this is 1/144... so it cannot be the same mold. Unless 4D did a 1/144 that I am not aware of. |

There's no hatch on the 4D Vision model. Some French modeler has been improving the model and from the photos (scroll down) there's not even a decal illustrating the hatch on the clear side... |

There are no markings on any of the clear parts of the 4D Shuttle. I have thought of getting a set of decals to add them to the wings and nose. If the door is printed on the Dragon model, I do not know how you could remove it. You could always paint over that part of the nose with the black and white tiles. |

4D Vision is not a Dragon product line; Dragon's Project Cutaway is a competitor to 4D Vision, which is produced by FameMaster. |

Any reviews on the Dragon Cutaway shuttle model? I was considering purchasing it, but wanted to hear others impressions of it first. It seems like it was released, the photos of the hatch on the incorrect side were revealed, then everything went silent about this model. Curious to hear if the hatch really was incorrectly placed, along with any other general impressions of this model (level of detail, etc.). |

That's odd. Mine has a hatch in the right location. |

Check for yourself by looking at the pictures posted on the Flying Mule website. The hatch is also depicted on the wrong side on the box! |

I just (re)checked my 1/72 scale 4D Vision shuttle and there is no hatch represented.

Looking at the photos on Dragon's site the hatch is depicted on the right AND left sides. Apparently they mirrored the nose, the representation of the star tracker(s) is also on both sides.Links to images on Dragon's site: left/port side | right/stbd side |
