I would love to find out the history of this Monitor Panel Assembly General Dynamics part no. 17-96207-1, S/N 001, Contract NAS 5-20402.

I have attempted to research the contract number, but the closest thing I found was contract number NAS 5-20492 from 1976. So obviously that didn't help. I appreciate any advice.

The workmanship of the wire termination is definitely not of any standard that would pass any type of inspection for professional use and appears to be amateur. The lamps all appear to be wired so that they all operate at the same time.

At least the tag appears to be professionally applied. Does look like someone repurposed the box for another project — perhaps for Christmas lighting.

For some reason serial number 001 always gets me excited.

Thank you for the info. The repurpose would make sense. I live pretty close to KSC and come across lots of random items.

Likely from the port or NOTU and not NASA or Atlas. Electro Dynamic Division was part of GD Electric Boats (submarines).

All times are CT (US)
