I am researching the Apollo 8 command module recovery and wondered at what point were the 16mm and Hasselblad films recovered from the command module?

I would have assumed that they would be flown out with the crew from the aircraft carrier at the first opportunity rather than wait for them to steam into port days later but I can't be certain hence my question! Thanks cS!
