Simmons Bilt NASA Jacket:
Issued and worn by many astronauts in the 1960's and 70's, we have created our interpretation of this iconic flight jacket. Our NASA jacket retains many of the original features including the snap stud flap pockets and zippered sleeve pocket. We have however reviewed and redeveloped the pattern to ensure comfort and functionality whilst remaining true to the originals.

Although the originals had a smaller gauge main zipper we felt a size 8 Riri would be more appropriate especially on the heavier weight fabrics but zip options are available. After a great deal of research we have managed to source a heavyweight knit for both the waistband and cuffs to ensure durability as these ares of the jacket tend to be subjected to the most wear and tear.

The NASA jacket illustrated in our gallery is made from 18oz navy canvas, produced by Halley Stevensons of Dundee who are experts in the production of both performance and heritage fabrics. The NASA jacket will be available in a range of cotton fabrics and colors should a lighter weight version be more preferable.

Lining options available including 100% military viscose twill and hybrid cottons from Halley Stevensons (available soon).

Not sure about this one. Looks a bit too generic.

As this company produced the Still the Right Stuff range, I'd hoped it would be better. The Luna Replicas example appears better.

Without to much detailed scrutiny I agree it looks generic. I have a collection of period photos for reference and will compare later.

Perhaps they are not aiming for a true replica?
